My Heart Behind “SIMPLY ME”: Why Your Child’s Portrait Belongs on the Wall

Why Your Child Belongs on the Wall: The Heart Behind “SIMPLY ME”
Did you know this is the most photographed generation but the least printed? In a world full of filters, fast scrolls, and fleeting moments, it’s more important than ever to slow down and truly see our kids. Not just how they look — but who they are.
That’s the heartbeat of SIMPLY ME — a portrait experience and upcoming gallery exhibit that celebrates kids in all their personality-filled, one-of-a-kind glory. BIGGER THAN LIFE!
Why Photographing Kids Matters
Photographing children isn’t just about pretty pictures. It’s about freezing who they are right now — their wild ideas, crooked grins, serious questions, wiggly energy, or quiet curiosity.
Each stage of childhood is temporary. Blink and it changes. These portraits become a visual record of their becoming. They say to our kids: “I see you. I love who you are today.”
The Power of Seeing Themselves on the Wall
Did you know that having photographs of themselves displayed at home can boost children’s self-esteem?
Studies show that when kids see their own portraits — not just school pictures, but images that reflect their personality and spark — they feel valued, recognized, and connected to their family story.
A portrait on the wall quietly says, “You belong here. You matter.”
The Birth of “SIMPLY ME”
I created SIMPLY ME because I wanted kids to have that moment of being fully seen and celebrated — not for posing perfectly, but for being themselves. This isn’t about traditional portraits. It’s about personality. Excitement. Soul. Story.
From goofy grins to thoughtful gazes, each child photographed for this exhibit brings their own magic. These images will be displayed larger-than-life this November as part of our First Thursday gallery event, where kids can walk in and see themselves as art.
It’s more than a photo session. It’s a gift of confidence.
Be Part of It
If you’re a parent who believes your child deserves to feel confident, seen, and celebrated, I invite you to book a session.
Together, let’s create something they’ll remember — not just now, but for years to come when they see their portrait and say, “That was me. And I mattered.”
